The weekend's Live Music!!

This year, with the help of Phil Hughes of Insangel (click on the name to see other gigs for Insangel), we will once again be offering live entertainment on both Friday and Saturday nights.

For Friday night, we are pleased to present Dookified and Sam Gibson.

Dookified are a hugely popular Green Day tribute band. Not only do they sound just like Green Day, frontman Lewis is Billy Joe's complete double, and you really do think you're watching and listening to the real thing!! Be ready to sing and dance along!

Sam Gibson is one of the North East's favourite singer songwriters. Sam takes inspiration from the wide range of favourite artists in his record collection, and his style reflects his massive love for music by embracing a wide variety of genres.

Sam is not afraid of hard work, and it shows. He has stuck to his roots by predominantly gigging in the North East, but he does like to spread his wings, and has enjoyed touring the UK and Europe over the last few years.

Saturday night sees us present Scratch the Surface, and Stephen Mordue.

Scratch the Surface are four lads from North Durham who specialise in performing songs we all know and love, but not every other bands play. Expect music from anywhere and everywhere - a bit modern (Ed Sheeran, James Bay, Fleetwood Mac, Mumford and Sons, the Lumineers), a bit of 80s (Tears for Fears, Billy Idol, Hall and Oates, Men at Work, U2), a bit of 90s (Oasis, Pulp, James, Morrisey, Stone Roses), and all the classics (the Killers, Kings of Leon, Journey, Bryan Adams, and the Zutons amongst others!).

Last, but definitely not least, sees our festival organiser's namesake, Stephen Mordue (hopefully he sings better than our Steve Mordue!!).

Stephen is a singer songwriter and guitarist based in Durham. He's been performing live for over twenty years in bands and on his own, always with a huge emphasis on an acoustic, unplugged feel.

His repertoire covers everything from every decade from the fifties through to the contemporary via his passion - the eighties!!

His heartfelt vocals and varied guitar style gives each performance both subtle nuances, depth and energy.
